The vicious side of doing more things faster

Every time I say to myself „There must be more than work“, I can immediately name a long list of things to do. And I decide that I just have to leave the office earlier. That means I just have to work faster. When I work faster, I get more things done in shorter time, but I also get more new workrelated ideas. That means when I work faster, I work more. And since I don’t like unfinished ideas, I stay in the office longer.

That’s vicious, somehow.

Or is it just efficient?

Is it a similar kind of efficiency as new online media and ubiqituos communication- and collaboration tools bring it to our lives? Do more things faster, but don’t do want you want to do?
